Microsoft's 10.6-inch Surface Pro will be on sale in the US and Canada on the 9th of February, a tad later than their promised January launch date. The base 64GB model will be going for US$899, and will be running an Intel Core i5 processor as well as Windows 8 Pro.
Cash-rich Microsoft is said to be in talks to help take Dell private, and might invest up to $3 billion to do so.

Acer is reported to be working on launching premium laptops, and possibly an ultrabook, which will feature screen resolutions of 2880 x 1620 pixels. Just last week at CES 2013, the company showcased a 15-inch prototype that features this high PPI (pixels per inch) display.

The 3G variant of the ASUS Vivotab RT is now available in Singapore for $1049. The Vivotab RT is a 10-inch hybrid PC that has an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and runs Microsoft's new Windows RT.
According to sources, Dell is said to be in "serious" talks with two private-equity firms to take the company private.
