AMD has unveiled its Radeon HD 8970M mobile graphics chip that is the most powerful from its Radeon HD 8000M stable. The new chip packs twice the number of stream processors as the 8870M graphics chip, and the company claims that it can be up to 54 per cent faster than NVIDIA's GeForce 680M.

Sony expands its range of touch-enabled notebooks with the new VAIO Fit and VAIO Fit E models that are available in both 14- and 15-inch screen sizes in a range of colors.
According to a report by PC World, HP will be standardizing the design and features of all of its notebooks and tablets to cut manufacturing costs and help customers better identify its products.
