As predicted by @evleaks, Google has begun rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat from today.

According to the the blog post, the Android 7.0 update will be available for the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One in the coming weeks. Google also officially confirmed that the upcoming LG V20 will be the first non-Nexus smartphone to ship with Android 7.0.

Android 7.0 OS (Nougat) has 250 new features and new compatibility support. For instance, the operating system can now run in multi-windows natively. You can run two apps, side-by-side, in their own resizable windows (if you used Samsung’s TouchWiz UI before, you’ll know how handy this can be). Android Nougat also supports Daydream – Google’s very own VR platform – which in turn supports Daydream-ready devices such as headsets and controllers. Software updates can now happen in the background.

The new operating system also took the effort to be relevant and specific to each user’s needs. The new Quick Settings (the drop-down window that lets you toggle Bluetooth and Wi-Fi quickly) lets you move the Quick Setting tiles within the menu itself. Nougat also has multi-locale support, so the apps start to adapt based on locale settings (Google’s example was having search engines giving the user search engine results in multiple languages).

If you’re big on battery capacities, the new Nougat also offers a new Doze feature. This function lets the device go into low power usage while the phone is jostled about in the pocket or bag, while on the move. The new software also packs a bunch of new security features.

Here's what we have about Android Nougat from our visit to Google I/O 2016 in California.
