What to buy at Qoo10's Super Sale event that's happening from Oct 27 to 29

Qoo10 is once again organizing a Super Sale from this Friday to Sunday (October 27 - 29), and yes, there are coupons up for grabs to cushion your ‘damage’. In short, there are S$100 coupons for minimum S$800 purchases, S$30 coupons for minimum S$200 purchases, as well as S$10 coupons for minimum S$50 purchases. (More T&Cs here.)

Without further ado, here are a few gadgets to consider if you need to scratch that buying itch:

1.) Garmin Fenix 5

The Garmin Fenix 5 is a multi-sport GPS watch for fitness geeks and outdoor lovers. On top of its GPS and GLONASS capabilities, it has a built-in 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter, and gyroscope, so you can train in literally any terrain. And yes, the watch can measure your heart rate, too. When paired to a smartphone, the Fenix 5 can get notifications for calls, texts, and apps; watch face customization can also be done via Garmin’s Connect IQ online store. Normally priced at S$999, you can now score the Fenix 5 (in slate gray color, non-sapphire model) for S$849 after using Qoo10’s S$100 cart coupon and the shop’s 5% coupon.

2.) GoPro Hero 6 Black

The Hero 6 is GoPro’s latest action camera. A 12-megapixel camera, it has a new GP1 chip that enables it to shoot in 4K at 60fps and 1080p slow motion at 240fps, as well as in HDR. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, you’ll also find GPS, accelerometer, and gyroscope sensors onboard this tiny waterproof camera. On Qoo10, the Hero 6 is going at the suggested retail price of S$750, so we suggest adding an accessory to bring the price past S$800 to make use of the S$100 cart coupon. Remember to see if the shop has its own coupon too and stack it to bring the price down further.

3.) ASUS Turbo GeForce GTX 1080 8GB

The ASUS Turbo GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card uses a dual-ball bearing fan to improve cooling efficiency and has two HDMI outputs for connecting a VR device and display at the same time. It also has something called GPU Tweak II with XSplit Gamecaster that provides intuitive performance tweaking and instant gameplay streaming. The GDDR5X 8GB variant of this card can now be found on Qoo10 for S$839; but with Qoo10’s S$100 cart coupon, you can bring its price down to a S$739.

4.) ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop powered by an Intel Core i7–7700HQ processor, with 24GB RAM, and 512GB SSD storage. An NVIDIA Max-Q laptop, it also packs GeForce GTX 1080 graphics inside its 18mm-thick chassis. Normally priced at S$4,898, you can pick one up on Qoo10 for S$4,599. Take note that Qoo10’s S$100 coupon can’t be used here.

5.) Fitbit Ionic

Fitbit’s latest health and fitness smatchwatch, the Ionic, has a nano-moulded unibody made up of 6000 series aerospace-grade aluminum and is water resistant up to 50 meters. It packs eight different sensors, including a GPS antenna, an altimeter, an optical heart rate sensor, a digital compass, and a 3-axis accelerometer. It also runs the Fitbit OS, which has an app gallery for you to select apps and clock faces. According to Fitbit, a single charge will last more than four days of use. Usually going for S$458, you can use Qoo10’s S$30 cart coupon to bring the price down to S$428.

6.) Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

If there’s any place that carries gadgets not officially sold here, that place would be Qoo10. To recap, the near-bezel-less Mi Mix 2 features a 5.99-inch, 2,080x1,080-pixel resolution display, has a scratch-resistant ceramic back, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. The fingerprint sensor sensor is found on the phone’s back, which is also home to a lone 12MP shooter. Normally going for S$800 for the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage model, you can now make use of Qoo10’s S$100 cart coupon and the shop’s S$42 coupon to bring the price down to S$658. And oh, since this is an import set, remember to check that the seller has installed the neccessary components (e.g. Google Play) to have it work here.

7.) Google Pixel 2

Unlike the Google Pixel 2 XL, the Pixel 2 isn’t coming to Singapore. So if you prefer the smaller phone, you have to either go to country that has it and buy it there, or buy from an importer. To recap, the Pixel 2, other than having a 5-inch full HD AMOLED display, isn’t that much different from the 2 XL. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, has a fingerprint sensor and a single 12.2MP camera on the back, and runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo. It also supports Active Edge, allowing you to squeeze the phone’s sides to bring up Google Assistant, and features Google Lens smarts in the Google Photos app. On Qoo10, you can now pick up the black Pixel 2 with 64GB storage for S$1,278. And with the S$100 coupon, the final price is S$1,178. Yes, that’s quite a bit of markup, so consider this more of a PSA for die-hard Pixel fans.
