The Sony PlayStation VR has landed! Some VR games will require the PS Move Motion Controllers, which is sold separately. Meanwhile, my AT-AT walker is getting curious. Time to open up the package for inspection!
Opening up the box reveals… another box.
A white box. Ok. A white box.
And the first thing you will see inside the box, is the setup manual. Trust me, read it.
Setting up the PS VR for the first time can be quite a messy affair. So, please read the manual.
More boxes and now more cables!
The PS VR Camera on the left, and the Processor Unit on the right.
The only hardware that matters most. Even our Sackboy figurines couldn’t resist it.
The PS VR Processor Unit up close. The right side of the unit has a recess area to hide the HDMI cable head. Presumably to make your table or TV console ‘cleaner’?
The rear of the Processor Unit, where all the cables and power plug goes into. Note the exhaust fan.
The PS Camera is a required hardware. So unless you already own one, be sure to buy the PS VR bundle that comes with a PS Camera.
Finally… the PlayStation VR headset. From my personal experience, it is by far the most comfortable VR headset in the market now.
That’s a lot of cables to tend to. Not a pretty sight for anyone who hates cable clutter.
We'll be putting the PlayStation VR through its pace over the next two days, so stay tuned to our final review.
The PlayStation VR went on sale since 13 October. To give it a try, check out Sony's new lifestyle concept store in Wisma Atria.
