How-to: Subscribe & Install Office 365 Home Premium
As we’ve detailed in our Office 2013 & Office 365 FAQ, there are two ways to get Microsoft’s latest office productivity software suite: buy a perpertually-licensed Office 2013 suite or subscribe to an Office 365 plan. Both can be purchased online and offline. For online, this is done at Office.com; for offline, you can find boxed copies at authorized resellers.
In this article, we show you the steps involved when subscribing Office 365 Home Premium online, and installing it on your computers. For the purpose of this tutorial, this was done on Windows 8.
Subscribing Online
Step 1: Obviously, the first step is to go to Office.com, and choose the edition you want to buy. In this case, we chose to subscribe to Office 365 Home Premium at S$129.99 a year. |
Step 2: Next, you'd be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft account. |
Step 3: After that, you'd be brought to a page to key in your billing information. For the Singapore Office.com store, you can pay using Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal. Other countries or regions (you can change that at the top of this page) may have more payment options. For example, in the U.S., American Express and Discover Network credit cards are allowed. |
Step 4: After checking that all the details are correct, hit the 'Purchase' button. Note that the subscription will renew automatically each year. |
Step 5: If you reach this page, it means that the purchase is successful. You’ll also receive a confirmation email. To begin installing the new Office, hit the ‘Continue’ button. Alternatively, you can initiate the installation process via Office.com/MyAccount. We'll take a closer look at this in the next page. |
