With its sleek aluminum styling and attractive range of colors, the K43SJ29i5 is sure to turn some heads. Add a second generation Intel Core i5-2510M processor and an NVIDIA GT520 GPU and you’ve got a decent basic workhorse. The weird model name is something of a mystery that we've not yet solved though.
ASUS Zenbook UX31
When the world was introduced to the Ultrabook, all eyes were on the ASUS Zenbook UX31. Now it's finally available in Singapore via Sitex. This svelte stunner is covered completely in gorgeous aluminum, and is sturdy as it is light (1.3kg). The 13-inch version comes in 2 different variations (difference of S$500), a Core i7-2677M, or a Core i5-2557M processor. Its display is also sharper than any Ultrabook out in the market right now, at 1600 x 900 pixels (with 400NITS brightness). Its got an SSD, (128GB or 256GB), 4GB of RAM and an amazing battery life according to ASUS. We've yet to test it, but stay tuned for the full review shortly.
The Dell XPS 14z is so small and slim it could almost pass for an Ultrabook. In fact one of its biggest selling points was that it has a 13-inch form factor, while packing a 14-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) screen. This notebook was previously exclusive to the Chinese market but Dell changed its marketing strategy to allow for a local release in Singapore too.
