Shootout: Nokia N95 8GB vs. Samsung SGH-G810

By Kenny Yeo - 23 Jul 2008

Overview

The Battle Begins

We have been seeing several mobile phones based on the Windows Mobile platform as of recent, so a change in flavor is in order. Giving you a double whammy today, we bring you two devices to satisfy your Symbian needs: the new Samsung SGH-G810 and the all too familiar looking Nokia N95 8GB, which was previously covered under our First Looks category. Noting that both the N95 8GB and G810 are Symbian devices that have a similar features and functionalities, we'll be taking a detailed approach and giving a fair amount of attention to each device in this one-on-one match up.

The G810 is proof of Samsung's strong presence into the mobile devices market. Not to be confused with the previously launched Samsung SGH-G800 which sports similar imaging features such as its 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, the G810 is equipped to rival the N95 8GB with the inclusion of the Symbian S60 platform that puts it one step nearer as a strong contender for the Symbian phone of the year. Understandably, the N95 8GB has seen its fair share of action over the past six months with its earlier introduction (December 2007), but the fact is, there has been no other device that matches its specifications just as closely until the Samsung SGH-G810 came along, so without further ado, we present a specification overview of these two devices for a comparison watch.
