Many have waited with bated breath for it, and it's here at long last. Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones have arrived. The best part of it all? They finally look the part, with a premium aluminium and glass body and the internal hardware to go with it. If you rushed out to get your hands on Samsung’s tour de force of a smartphone or are simply considering a purchase in the near future, you’ll likely be looking at accessories to help you get the most out of it.

We trawled the web (so you don't have to) to bring you this list of accessories for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to enable you to maximize these devices and even keep it safe from everyday bumps and knocks.

Otterbox Commuter

Sometimes you just want to protect your phone without looking like you’re carrying a brick around. The Otterbox Commuter offers you just that, providing solid protection in a case that should slide easily in and out of your back pocket thanks to the smooth polycarbonate outer shell. The Commuter gives you two layers of protection with a cushy layer of synthetic rubber sitting below the hard external shell.

This combination should provide adequate protection for most bumps and accidental drops you’ll encounter in your day-to-day activities. The case also comes with rubber port covers to keep dust out - the Galaxy S6 loses the IP67 rating of the Galaxy S5, so these are certainly a welcome feature.

And with seven different colors for both the shell and rubber slip cover, you can have fun customizing the color scheme of your Commuter case to suit your personal tastes. The Otterbox Commuter for the Galaxy S6 is currently retailing at S$55. There doesn’t appear to be a case for the S6 edge yet, but Otterbox says that we can expect one soon.

Mophie juice pack

The Galaxy S6 departed from Samsung’s long-held persistence in incorporating removable batteries into its flagship smartphones. It even sports a smaller battery than the Galaxy S5 - 2,500mAh on the Galaxy S6 versus the 2,800mAh on the Galaxy S5. As a result, users who go a full day without access to a charging point will likely be worried about battery performance. But fret not, the Mophie juice pack for Samsung’s latest flagship will provide the extra juice you need.

The 3,300mAh Mophie juice pack comes in two versions to fit both the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. It snaps onto your smartphone like a protective case and can be charged via the built-in micro USB port. The juice pack also does more than power your phone, featuring an impact-isolation system with internal bumpers to cushion the edges of your phone.

Mophie claims that the juice pack doubles the battery life on the Galaxy S6, providing up to 24 hours of internet use, up from the 12 hours without the pack. Measuring just 75 x 158 x 16mm, the Mophie juice pack aims to add minimal bulk to your phone while helping to power it through the day. It is also versatile, and the integrated standby switch allows you to choose whether you want to charge your phone or conserve power for a later time. It is currently available for pre-order on Mophie’s website for US$99.95 and is available in black, gloss white and gold. Mophie will soon be available for purchase directly in Singapore too, so stay tuned for updates on that.

Zero G Anti-Gravity Case

With a stellar 16MP rear shooter with f/1.9 lens and 5MP wide-angle front camera, selfie fans will have a whale of a time taking pictures with the Galaxy S6 or S6 edge. That is, after you work through numerous contortions to get everyone in the frame. This is where the Zero G Anti-Gravity Case comes in. The case works like any regular phone casing, except it sticks to surfaces without the need for any sticky adhesive, thus allowing you to take all the selfies you want while keeping your hands free the whole time. It also helpfully dispenses with the need for ostentatious and slightly annoying selfie sticks.

The Zero G works by having millions of minuscule suction cups on the back of the case which provide grip to most smooth, flat surfaces. The nano-suction material also cleans up fairly easily with water and has self-healing and temperature-resistant properties. It is available now on Kickstarter at US$39 and is expected to begin shipping in June.

TYLT VU Wireless Charging Car Mount

No one wants to be juggling Google Maps in one hand while attempting to follow the navigation instructions and drive with the other. The TYLT VU Wireless Charging Car Mount offers Qi wireless charging for your Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, both of which now support the Wireless Power Consortium’s (WPC) inductive-charging Qi standard natively. The charging mount features a micro-gel suction cup that can fasten to an array of solid surfaces like your car’s dashboard and even windshield. It clamps your phone securely between two arms, which can be disengaged at the push of a button at the top.

The VU Wireless Charging Car Mount allows you to charge your phone on-the-go, which will prove helpful in kicking your phone’s battery level up a few notches - because when it comes to making it through the day, every bit counts. The TYLT VU Wireless Charging Car Mount retails for S$119 at Newstead.

SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive

The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge lack a microSD card slot, which means users no longer have the option of expandable onboard storage. Samsung is offering the phones in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB configurations, but we know all too well how easily large media files and 1080p HD movies can fill up your storage space. Fortunately, the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive allows you to add up to 64GB of wireless storage space to your new Galaxy phone.

It gives you wireless access on-the-go to your movies, photos and other documents without the need for an Internet connection. You can even stream content from the flash drive to your phone! The drive is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB configurations and retails for S$89, S$109 and S$179 respectively at major retail outlets like Challenger, Epicentre and nübox.
