Nikon launched their entry-level D60 just days before PMA started, whetting our appetites as we sought to look out for this new model.

The D60 replaces the older D50, and promises to be a camera suited for those who are out looking for fun. As it is built small, like the D40 and D40x before it, the D60 can only accommodate AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR lenses, as these come equipped with an autofocus motor. The D60 also comes equipped with an image sensor cleaning function, creative shooting modes for a worry-free shooting spree, built-in Filter Effects and the ability to create your own Stop-motion movie. This easily makes it the most user-friendly entry-level camera there is to date. The D60 will be available in the US from February 2008.

Nikon was also proud to introduce a handful of new lenses: the Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR ....

... the AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED and ...

... the PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D ED. These lenses further expands Nikons range of excellent optics, and offers professionals, enthusiasts and amateurs alike more choices.

This, however, caught our attention first. It's not often that you’ll get to see a dissected Nikon D3.

The new Coolpix cameras certainly did receive an upgrade as well. The S210 now comes in four unique colors - Plum, Graphite Black, Cool Blue and Brushed Bronze.

The new L18 comes in several colors to suit the general tone of your wardrobe too.
