Panasonic Goes on a Lumix Overload

If you thought 2007 was a good year for Panasonic after they introduced several of the 'smartest' compact snap shooters around, you're going to love what they had at a special pre-PMA (Photo Manufacturer's Association) launch event to introduce several updates and new comers to the Lumix range of compacts. As part of the launch, journalists from the world over were given a thorough test run of a pre-production unit of the DMC-TZ15, their latest ultra zoom compact.

Mr. Tokikazu Matsumoto, the Director of Panasonic's AVC Networks Company, introducing the new lineup of Lumixes.

In addition to the four Intelligent Auto functions, 2 new ones were added to the mix. One called Intelligent Exposure, which compensates for under and over-exposure prone situations and another for red eye reduction.

The media were introduced to the new compacts in a run-of-the-mill press conference and product showcase before being handed the cameras. Here, Panasonic's new Intelligent Scene Selector is being demonstrated.
