The excellence of the Sandy Bridge processors continued in SYSmark 2007, where the Core i7-980X was again outdone by the new upstarts. Since SYSmark 2007 isn't exactly a poster boy for multi-threaded workloads, it's inevitable that the Sandy Bridge processors will have the advantage over the 3.3GHz Core i7-980X. Even the Core i5-2400 posted better overall scores than the 980X. Looking at the breakdown, it seems that Productivity was an area which got quite the boost from the new processors.
