IFA - Where the World of Consumer Electronics Converge

With the end of August and early September, a major global consumer electronics tradeshow is underway in Berlin, Germany. The IFA 2008 in Berlin, now an annual consumer electronics fair, boasts the largest rented floor space ever, with 122,000 square meters, including 11,000 square meters of temporary halls.

A record 1,245 exhibitors from 45 countries, including countries like Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam are taking part for the first time, alongside exhibitors from Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. Dr. Christian Goke, Chief Operating Officer of Messe Berlin, said, "The substantial increase in exhibitors from other countries is the result of many years of work on international markets. Our success in increasing the international dimension of IFA is confirmation of our basic strategy."

While the show proper starts on 29th August and ends on 3rd September, the IFA organizers normally open its doors to international and local journalists a day or two prior to opening day - hence, the Press Day coverage.

We checked out what each of the top consumer electronics brands unveiled to journalists during the Press Day conferences held on 28 August 2008, a day before IFA 2008 officially opens.

IFA in Berlin is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to cutting-edge consumer electronics showcase and 2008 is no different from what we saw in today's IFA 2008 Press Day.
