HWZ Deal Alert: 3rd May 2016

Got deal, got talk! GDGT! =)

The long weekend may have ended, but the buying can continue. #BBBMTL!

1.) Samsung 64GB Evo+ microSDXC card

If you’ve the means to ship from Amazon cheaply, this Samsung 64GB Class 10 microSD card with up to 80MB/s transfer speed is a good deal at US$19. (Hat tip to Kinja Deals.)

2.) Microsoft Band 2

Do you know that Microsoft makes a fitness band with built-in GPS? Unfortunately, this Microsoft Band 2 isn’t officially available here. With a suggested retail price of US$250, it’s now going for US$170 over at Amazon. This is the best price I've seen in a while.

3.) Humble Mobile Bundle

The on-going Humble Mobile Bundle is one way to score some Android games on the cheap. If you pay US$1, you get three games, such as Freeze! 2 - Brothers, Evoland, and Adventures of Poco Eco. If you pay more than the average price at the time of purchase (currently US$6.15), it also unlocks Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadsville, Broken Sword 5 Episode 1, and Goat Simulator GoatZ. Pay US$7 or more, and you additionally get Broken Sword 5 Episode 2 and This War of Mine. Furthermore, at the end of the day, if you pay above the average, you may end up with more games (that are not announced yet).

4.) Chromecast and Chromecast Audio

If you’re able to access the U.S. Google Store (ahem, VPN), the Chromecast and Chromecast Audio are now going for US$30 each, down from US$35 each. Yes, US$5 isn’t a big discount, but you won’t find this price on Amazon, ever - because for whatever reason, Amazon doesn’t carry Chromecast devices.

5.) Challenger Funan closure sale

Challenger's Funan outlet is closing at the end of June, so the retailer is now busy trying to clear as much inventory as possible. While not all deals are spectacular, there are certain gems to be had. We've a couple of galleries highlighting some of the items on discount, Gallery 1 and Gallery 2, so remember to check them out!
