How to Get Facebook's Paper App Before It's Available in Your Region

How To Get Facebook Paper for your iPhone

As you might already know, Facebook has released a new app for their services and it goes by the name of Paper. Part Facebook feed reader and part content agglomerator, Paper comes with a slick new interface which seems to be much better than the older, vanilla Facebook application. For now the Paper application is only available to iPhone users in the United States of America. But fret not early adopters, there is an easy workaround to get Paper for your iPhone before it gets released officially in your area. Just follow these simple steps.

Step I: Access Your Apple ID

The first step is to log-in to your Apple ID account. The easiest way to do this is to make your way over to the iTunes App Store.

  • Select the "Featured" tab from the lower left hand corner of the screen and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
  • Tap your Apple ID which should be prominently displayed and proceed to view your account.

Step II: Changing Your Country/Region

Next, you will need to change your Country/Region. As the Paper application from Facebook is only available in the United States toggle, you'll need to fool your device to think you're in the USA.

  • Proceed to choose United States as your country of choice.
  • Once chosen you will be asked to agree to new Terms and Conditions.

Additionally, you may have to make minor changes to your Zip Code and Phone Number to comply with the category restrictions for the United States.

Step III: Amend Payment Options

Switching your Country/Region to the United States means that your previous mode of payment will no longer be valid. Luckily, you can choose "None" for your Billing Information and still download the Paper as it is available for free.

And that's it!

Once the installation is complete, you can go back to your Apple ID account and change your settings back to their original states. Paper should still be available and functional after you have reverted your Apple ID.

Enjoy the new app and share with us and HardwareZone members of your thoughts about it.
