A HardwareZone Special: PlayTest November 2009 (Updated with Video!)

Lifestyle On-the-Go! - PlayTest Nov. 2009

Lifestyle On-the-Go!

PlayTest - Learn the Latest Tech Trends, Test the Coolest Gizmos.

Since our very first PlayTest event back in June 2008, our motto and principle drive for our PlayTest has pretty much remained constant to engage, educate and entertain our subscribers and readers to a special tech event hosted by the editorial teams of HardwareZone.com, HWM and GameAxis.

Of course every PlayTest revolves around a different theme, so in our fourth edition of PlayTest that was held on the 21st of November from 1 to 5 pm, the editorial team focused on tech trends and nifty gadgets that contribute towards the modern lifestyle that's increasingly on the move. Hence we have Lifestyle On-the-Go! In this event, we managed to snag an unprecedented number of exclusive gadgets that weren't launched yet or aren't available in many parts of the world - that's the length we go to give you the exclusivity and an experience you'll surely cherish. We'll highlight these specials later within our coverage, but first up, here's a video highlight of the event that took place:-

Yet another change is instead of our usual office locality, our latest PlayTest was held at the Singapore Management University (SMU), School of Information Systems, Function Room Level 5. Change of venue (and thankfully, the absence of rain) aside, the team's objectives remain the same: to invite our loyal subscribers and readers once again to grace an event that aims to share with them the coolest and latest gadgets while allowing them the opportunity to leave with knowledge and expertise garnered from our knowledgeable team. Of course, not forgetting the fact that each and every participant also gets to leave with a goodie bag that's worth $30, and a chance at winning an awesome prize at our lucky draw!

While previous PlayTests saw the designation of different editorial teams to different respective booths, this year's PlayTest was all about an integrated mobile lifestyle and that was also why the whole team worked very hard hand-in-hand together to cover four main areas: Productivity, Mobile Lifestyle, Travel, and Entertainment & Gaming.

Besides getting hands-on time on cool and new gizmos at our booths, attendees also got to check out stuff at our partner booths by HTC, Singtel and Samsung. And lastly, the pillar of our event this time were the educational talks held by our own editorial team (more about them later) and HTC on their yet to launch HD2.

If, for some unforeseeable reason (tsk, shame on you guys, you know who you are!), you did not manage to attend this PlayTest, fret not, there are always other opportunities in the future to immerse yourself in a half-day session full of tech from the team. For now, just sit back and enjoy our reportage of what took place and what you might have missed out during the enriching afternoon.
