Gear this week: A Swatch mechanical watch, a handsome camera backpack and more

Brevite Rucksack

Camera bags are usually either functional or beautiful, but the Brevite Rucksack is both. Designed specifically not to look like a camera bag, the Rucksack is a handsome backpack with space for a laptop and a books compartment. The front bottom compartment houses your cameras, with a quick access door on the side, plus there's a tripod holder along the side and bottom.

Swatch Sistem51 Irony

In 2013, Swatch made waves with the Sistem51, an affordable watch with Swiss mechanical movement. Its everyday price was made possible by an automated assembly process, with most of the parts made from plastic. The Irony does away with the plastic, at least from the outside, with a stainless steel case, new dial designs and straps.

ASUS Strix ROG GL502

The new Strix ROG GL502 gaming notebooks from ASUS are designed to be portable gaming machines. Available in two configurations with a choice of NVIDIA’s new GeForce GTX 1070 or GTX 1060 mobile GPUs, the ROG GL502 models will top out at just 2.3kg for maximum portability. Fast graphics aside, both configurations will be equipped with Intel’s powerful quad-core Core i7-6700HQ processors, and their 15-inch IPS displays will support Full-HD resolution and also NVIDIA G-Sync technology.

Huawei Honor 8

If you thought the Huawei P9 was a little too expensive, there’s a more affordable alternative with its unique dual-rear camera setup making its rounds. The 5.2-inch Honor 8 features two 12-megapixel rear cameras. They work in a manner similar to the Huawei P9’s dual rear cameras, one shoots in standard RGB, and the other captures the same scene in monochrome, and the resulting image is a combination of both cameras.
