Native Union Clic Metal Case
Just got a new iPhone SE but don't want it to look like yesterday's iPhone? Native Union's Clic Metal case is a meld of wood and metal - just like if elves and dwarves got together to forge an iPhone case. The case is made from American timber, which means that each case has a unique grain that's never replicated.
biém Butter Spray
The biém Butter Spray is godsend if you don't have the time to wait for your refrigerated stick of butter to soften. According to its inventor, the device is able to fit an entire stick of butter and melt a portion of it before spraying the butter oil on demand. Its nozzle features a "no clog" design and is ready to spray in seconds. However, the butter spray has to be kept in the fridge to keep its butter fresh.
DeepFlight Dragon
The DeepFlight Dragon is an all-electric, two-seater personal submarine that is touted as the world's smallest and lightest submersible. The manufacturer claims the personal submarine is easy to pilot as it has six rotating engine pods, allowing it to hover and glide underwater like a quadcopter. It dives to a maximum depth of 122m and has enough batteries that let you explore your underwater surroundings for up to six hours!
Beartooth
The Beartooth is a compact digital transceiver that pairs with your iOS or Android smartphone via Bluetooth. It transforms the paired device into a walkie-talkie that comes with texting capabilities. So even if your smartphone loses its signal, Beartooth will allow you to stay connected to other Beartooth-toting family members and friends.
Straton Curve-Chrono Watch
After the success of their Vintage Driver Chrono - a watch inspired by the 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT - Straton Watch Co. is back with another vintage inspired timepiece. The Curve-Chrone was designed to bring back a 70s retro vibe with subtle cues paying tribute to the cars of the era. Even the case back is inspired by legendary rims from the time.
#ICYMI
So many teasers and leaks of the big smartphones this week:
- The iPhone 7 Plus gets pictured, with dual cameras, a Smart Connector and no mute switch (how is that going to work?)
- The iPhone 7 gets leaked too, with redesigned antenna lines and a single, not dual camera (looks rather … plain)
- The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 got its own photo leaks, with curved edges on both sides and an iris scanner on the front panel
- Samsung announced that the Galaxy Note 7 will be officially revealed on 2nd August, and explained why it isn’t called the Galaxy Note 6 (the last Note was the 5)
- Not to be left out, Xiaomi teased the internet with a dual camera image of the Redmi Note 4
As with all rumors, remember to take them with a pinch of salt!
We published an ultimate guide to paying with your smartphone in Singapore. If you’ve ever been confused by what Android Pay is, or Singtel Dash, or what NFC SIM cards do, this guide explains it in an easy-to-understand way.
The biggest news, however, had to be Pokémon GO. Seems like everybody’s getting crazy about this game that makes you crazy about getting them all. In fact, the game was so popular that it made Nintendo US$9 billion more valuable, and developer Niantic had to put the breaks on its global rollout because the servers were getting hammered.
Right now, iOS and Android users can only get the game in the US, Australia and New Zealand. Niantic has promised that Asia and Europe will get the game soon, but if you can’t wait to play it (update: oops no, it’s not coming soon after all), here’s how you can get Pokémon GO in Singapore right now (without getting scammed by dodgy look-alike apps or APKs).
