Fujitsu's New LifeBooks
It's close to the end of the year, and while it's rainy season for most folks living in the equator, further up north, winter breathes its frosty chill upon this festive season. But that doesn't mean you should stay at home near a warm fireplace and wait out the winter. Instead, there's no better time to be heading out to check out what Fujitsu has in store for us at their Winter Launch of their new LifeBooks. While it's nowhere as cold up north, the rainy weather still made us equally chilly as we made our way down to 1 Caramel loaded with delicious candies and pretty looking notebooks.
Let's start with the basics, there are a total of five new notebooks launched in Singapore, but of the five, only the Fujitsu LifeBook UH900 can be considered new. So what exactly is the LifeBook UH900? If you remember the Fujitsu LifeBook U1010 and U2010, both of which are extremely small notebooks that were classified as UMPCs and offered extreme portability. The UH900 though, packs a better lengthier design that's much nicer on the eyes and features a multi-touch screen. Powered by an Intel Atom Z530 with an accompanying SSD drive, this tiny device looks set to go places.
As for the other four notebooks, we're looking at two ultralight machines, the Fujitsu LifeBook P8110 running only the Intel CULV platform while the other, the Fujitsu LifeBook P3110 and 3010 use either Intel's CULV or AMD's Yukon. Both are roughly 12-inch notebooks and are designed for folks on the go who require something better than the usual Intel Atom netbook. And rounding up the list of notebooks is the Fujitsu LifeBook T4410, a tablet PC that takes advantage of Windows 7 features to offer multi-touch capabilities.
