The Eee PC S101 is quite a departure from the usual Eee PC look - to the point where we would have preferred if ASUS had made the S101 similar to their "high end" N10 netbook and removed the Eee branding from the model. Of course, the S101 shares more with the normal Eee PC then the N10, and as such, does make sense for it to be lumped with the not so glamorous older cousins.

Compared to said cousins though, the S101 sticks out like a sore thumb due to its wondrously sleek profile which we loved. This folks, is what a netbook should look and feel like. We're even willing to forgive the chunkiness of the older Eee PC series if they continue using the design for all their upcoming netbooks (with a much cheaper price tag of course). We're guessing this isn't going to be happening in the near future, but we can hope.

The front tapers to a very thin edge, making the unit appear even thinner. Located on the front (highlighted in red) are the speakers for the S101.

Keeping it simple and clean means there's only one USB 2.0 port and the audio jacks on the right side.

And on the left, just two USB 2.0 ports. So, if you're wondering where the other ports are, well...
