Cool metal and hot rides
Thailand is arguably the most important market for automakers in our region. First of all, with a population of over 67 million, Thailand is one of the most populous in Southeast Asia. And secondly, it is recognized as one of the stronger emerging economies in our region. This explains why so many automakers have factories here in Thailand. Some examples include Toyota, Honda, Ford, Volvo and even Mercedes-Benz. Automakers aside, Thailand is also home to many car accessory makers including Pioneer, Denso, Yokohama and Bridgestone.
Now into its 36th edition, the Bangkok Motor Show can trace its roots back to 1979. The show has grown in size and stature over the years, signaling Thailand’s importance as an automotive hub of the region. The show now serves as an opportunity for automakers and accessory makers to show off their models and products. Here are some of the interesting things we saw at the show, including cars and, not forgetting of course, the show girls. Sit back, relax and enjoy.
