ASUS was a rare sight at CES, being one of the few PC component manufacturers to actually have a barrage of new products on display - all the while being hidden off in some secluded corner by itself. First up, their ultimate gaming notebook, the G70. This 17-inch monster features Intel's newest 45nm unlocked Core 2 Extreme X9000 processor, two NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT in SLI mode, Blu-ray or HD DVD drive, and two SATA HDD for RAID support.

On the other end of the scale, we have an ultramobile to die for. ASUS refreshes its Lamborghini lineup with the VX3, a 12.1-inch beauty that comes with piano black, carbon fiber cover, leather bound palm rest, LED backlit display and built-in 3.5G connectivity.

More exclusivity from ASUS, the M70 (17-inch) series boasts not only ATI's new Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics, but the first notebook to feature 1TB of HDD storage using Hitachi's new 500GB 2.5-inch drives. Notice that it also features a full-sized keyboard with a numeric keypad as well. The M70Sr model on display seems to have a 1GB Turbo Memory module too.

If 17-inch notebooks are just too ungainly for your tastes, ASUS will also be launching a smaller 15.4-inch M50 series of notebooks that will feature the same 1TB HDD solution using two Hitachi Travelstar 500GB HDDs. Besides the HDD, the M50 shares many of the features of the M70 including a full keypad and 1GB Turbo Memory.

ASUS is still looking into rugged notebook territory and this CES, they had this semi-rugger prototype on display which featured reinforced sides and a supposedly tougher LCD screen. Funny looking keyboard though.

One of the new UMPC designs based on the Intel Menlow platform, the ASUS R50A sports 3.5G connectivity, GPS and a large 5.6-inch LCD.
