ASUS' Notebooks

On to their notebook section, ASUS has quite a bit of new models either just barely released or will be coming out in the next one to two months. This ASUS W2P with a Full HD (WUXGA, 1920x1200 resolution) 17-inch display is one such notebook that just released a few weeks ago. Using Core 2 Duo mobile processors, it has a built-in DVB-T function for digital TV anywhere, a built-in subwoofer for a better audio experience, equipped with a Radeon Mobility X1700 GPU with HDMI output, and a customer's choice of either Blu-ray or HD DVD drive. Price? A cool 3000 Euros or thereabout.

Here's the same ASUS W2P notebook showing off its cool aluminum finished lid.

The U1F is ASUS' first attempt to crack at the sub-notebook market and we think they've made their mark with an extremely well-built and highly mobile business notbook. Equipped with a 11.1-inch WXGA screen with LED backlighting in a stainless steel frame, a leather palm rest, finger print reader, TPM 1.2, built-in 1MP webcam, EDR Bluetooth and Centrino Duo Mobile Technology (Core 2 Duo U2400 CPU and an Intel 945GM chipset platform), this notebook weighs just 1kg with a 3-cell battery. ODD is an external option only.

The ASUS V2J is their first and only notebook thus far with 3.5G HPDA connection capability. Based on the Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, built-in 1.3MP webcam, EDR Bluetooh, fingerprint reader, TPM 1.2 module, 14-inch WXGA screen supported by a discrete Radeon Mobility X1450 GPU. Weighs 2.3kg.
