MSI's Graphics Cards

MSI's Graphics Cards

We were quite (pleasantly) surprised to see this gallery of upcoming mid-range GeForce 8 cards from NVIDIA knowing a number of them are under NDA.

While it was certainly encouraging to see progress being made on upcoming products, MSI was tightlipped of any other specs other than the obvious ones. Not even the make of GPU was revealed to us. Nevertheless, our educated guess is that we are looking at a GeForce 8600 256MB card with HDMI output.

Note the single chip package indicating that the NVIO functions have been integrated in this new GPU.

Here's yet another probable GeForce 8600 class variant but overclocked.

This one's similar to the above card but has two BIOS copies instead - one works for stock speeds, while another is for overclocked speeds. These are toggled via special switch at the backplate of the card.

This is probably the 7600 GS replacement, as it is also using an 'unknown' GPU but with a more elaborate cooling solution than the existing version.
