Audio Delights & Smart Home Gadgets at TwoBros' Store Opening

The new store at 112 Katong is TwoBros' fourth and offers a extensive range of lifestyle and tech products and gadgets.

New Gadgets and Gear

TwoBros is chain of "lifestyle and gadget" stores that aims to bring the latest gadgets and lifestyle products to the heartlands. TwoBros has stores at Velocity, Serangoon Gardens, Holland Village and recently added their fourth at 112 Katong, which we recently visited at their store opening.

Their newest store at 112 Katong brings their concept of melding lifestyle products and gadgets even further as it features not only your usual gadgets such as headphones and speakers, but also lifestyle products as as LED lamps, sensor mirrors, t-shirts, bags, caps and more. Here is a quick look at some interesting gadgets we saw.

1. AwoX StriimLIGHT

Turn your desk lamp into a speaker with the AwoX StriimLIGHT.

Smart and connected homes seem to be the next big thing and the AwoX StriimLIGHT is a light bulb that doubles up as a Bluetooth speaker, allowing your table lamp to turn into a speaker. Users can also pair multiple Striimlights together to create zones using the accompanying StriimCONTROL app. The AwoX StriimLIGHT fits any E27 socket.

2. Lumen LED Smart Bulb

The Lumen LED Smart Bulb fits any E27 socket and features 16 million colors.

Another smart home product we saw was the Lumen LED Smart Bulb. The bulb features an LED bulb capable of displaying a whopping 16 million colors; and can be controlled using an app, which can be used to change its color and operating mode. The Lumen Smart Bulb fits any E27 socket and a smaller model is on the way soon.

3. Fiio X5 Music Player

High-resolution portable media players are all the rage at the moment and the Fiio X5 features audiophile components and supports all the popular lossless audio formats.

For audiophiles, there is Fiio’s new X5 high-resolution portable music player, which specializes in playing lossless audio formats such as DSD, WMA, FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV and more. Enabling this is a an dual-core Injenics CPU running at 600MHz. It also doubles as a portable USB DAC with support for 24-bit/192kHz music. Storage is provided for in the form of dual microSD card slots. Playback time is claimed to be in the region of 12 to 15 hours, courtesy of its 3700 mAh lithium-ion battery.

4. Fiio E18 Portable Headphone Amplifier and DAC

Improve your Android device's audio performance with the Fiio E18.

There was also Fiio's E18 portable headphone amplifier and DAC for Android devices. If you think your Android device’s audio capabilities is not up to scratch, or if it is too weak to drive your high impedance headphones, the E18 is for you. Making use of your Android’s devices USB OTG functionality, the Fiio E18 would bypass your Android’s onboard DAC and handle all decoding and amplification of audio signals. The E18 also doubles up as a mobile battery bank and has a built-in 3500 mAh lithium-ion battery. A potential downer is that support for Android devices can be finicky, so it would be best to check with Fiio to see if your device is supported.

5. Simplehuman Sensor Mirror

The lamp lights up like Tony Stark's Arc Reactor when you get close.

The gadgets were not all for boys as there was Simplehuman’s Sensor Mirror. Aptly named, the Sensor Mirror features, you guessed it, a sensor that detects when a user approaches and automatically turns on its ring light. It uses a "tru-lux" light system that it claims simulates natural sunlight, so that ladies can ensure that their makeup is, and we quote, "color-correct and flawless".
