App Attack #001: 5 Apps to Get for Your Spanking New iPhone 4

Now that you've gotten that shiny new iPhone 4, it's time to get downloading on Apps. With so many apps to choose from, whether they be absolutely crappy or out of this world, we're guessing you may need some help here. So fret not, help has arrived with our new weekly App section called the App Attack! We're not limiting to just iOS Apps, so expect to see apps from Android, Blackberry, Bada, Symbian and Meego. We're starting off this week with Apple, and here are five apps that make use of the features of the iPhone 4, including that oh so pretty Retina Display.

iMovie

Price: US$4.99
Category: Photography
The iPhone 4 features a new camera capable of taking 720p video, and if you want to do some editing, then be sure to grab iPhone version of iMovie, as it will allow you to edit videos with the iPhone 4 and publish said movies in 720p. A must have if you want to make full use of your iPhone 4’s new camera.

Twitter for iPhone

Price: Free
Category: Social Networking
If you have an iPhone, and are addicted to the micro-blogging service known as Twitter, then the official app is probably the one you will want to use. Besides multitasking, it also features Retina Display support too, so tweets on your iPhone 4 will look all sharp and crisp.

Flight Control

Price: US$0.99
Category: Games
An oldie but goldie, and also happens to be one of the cheaper and more popular games in the App store, Flight Control has been updated to support the Retina Display of the iPhone 4, which also means crisper graphics on top of the already fun and frantic gameplay. If you haven’t heard of Flight Control before, now’s definitely the time to grab this line drawing game for your iPhone 4!

Farmville

Price: Free
Category: Games
While Apple doesn’t have Adobe Flash support for its iDevices, fans of the Facebook game Farmville can now rejoice with iOS 4, as there’s now a free app version of the popular Flash game. While the app doesn't actually feature Retina Display graphics, it's a Flash game that makes its way to the iPhone. This only means your farming and harvesting times just got a little more intrusive, but you don’t really care...right? Hello? Anyone there? Stop farming!

Real Racing

Price: US$4.99
Category: Games
Featuring updated graphics, high resolution textures, detailed care interiors, Real Racing is one app that takes advantage of the features in the iPhone 4 like the Retina Display with its gorgeous graphics. Best of all, it even has Gyroscope support, for better controls, though for the life of us, we couldn’t figure out how exactly it worked.
