Skylake Machines at Comex 2015

In case you didn't hear, Skylake is here! Skylake is the codename for Intel's sixth generation Core processor and it promises to deliver more performance but with better power efficiency. There's a whole lot of technology behind this and if you are interested to find out, head over here where we unravel the architecture behind Intel's latest processors.

Skylake is a pretty big deal for Intel and it hopes that it will breath new life and generate more interest in the somewhat sluggish PC business. To this end, they have released no less than 48 new processors in what is one of their most ambitious rollouts ever. These processors are broadly divided into four series and can be used to power a wide spectrum of different computing devices ranging from 2-in-1 convertibles to high-performance gaming notebooks and desktop machines.

But what makes Skylake so exciting is that devices powered by these new processors are available here and now. And we are not just talking about products that are actually announced or released or anything like that, but actual products that are present in the flesh and can be purchased. Intel has really wasted no time in getting their newest processors into the hands of manufacturers and OEMs. If you are thinking of getting latest and greatest PC or notebook, here are the Skylake devices that we saw at Comex 2015.

Aftershock

Aftershock's newly refreshed Hypergate has a brand new Intel Core i5-6500 (3.2GHz, 6MB cache) processor with ASRock's H170M Pro 4 motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4GB VRAM), 8GB DDR4 RAM, 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage. It also comes with Windows 10 and costs $1,685 (U.P.$1,880).

Aftershock's W series has also been refreshed with the new Skylake chips. We're featuring the Aftershock W-15 in the article but the W-17 has also been refreshed with Skylake hardware. The Aftershock W-15 is a 15.6-inch gaming notebook with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution IPS display with G-Sync. It has an Intel 6th Gen Core i7-6700K (4GHz, 8MB smart cache) processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M (8GB VRAM), 16GB DDR4 RAM and 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD. The last of the Aftershock notebooks to be refreshed is its SM series. We're focusing on the Aftershock SM-15, though the Aftershock SM-17 also has been refreshed. The Aftershock SM-15 is a 15.6-inch machine with a 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS display and comes with an Intel Core i7-6700HQ (2.6GHz, 6MB smart cache) processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (2GB VRAM), 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB HDD for storage. Another Skylake device that we saw from ASUS is their new Zen AIO. Unfortunately, this isn't for sale yet. There's a 23.8-inch and a smaller 21.5-inch model. The larger model will feature a 4K display and will be powered by Intel's new and yet to be announced Core i7-6700T processor.
