This computer looks like it might once have been an iMac from more than a decade back. But whatever it was in life, it's now a cool home for a very lucky guinea pig.
This computer looks like it might once have been an iMac from more than a decade back. But whatever it was in life, it's now a cool home for a very lucky guinea pig.
Is a guinea pig or hamster cage too ordinary for you? Well, your PC monitor can even be a watery home for your friends with fins.
Okay, this isn't a computer, but hey, TV screens are our best friends too, right? This lucky flat screen still got to serve his masters even after his circuits gave out, as a bona fide easel for you know, paintings.
If PCs had souls, this is probably what hell looks like. Shish kebab anyone?
This guy must be really handy. His trusty old PC is now a loyal coffee-making machine.
Clearly someone thought it would be a good idea to store bread in this old printer. Well, it seems to be working well enough.
We don't quite know what to make of this. It's either a stroke of genius, or an act of questionable hygiene. We certainly hope someone cleaned out that old CD drive thoroughly before using it to slice salami.
Now here's the plan: Get a CD and set it on a beer bottle. And voilà! Even if your flailing arms knock over a bottle, you won't make a mess (or at least not a big one).
This is quite literally a masterpiece, albeit one by someone with a lot of time on their hands (and a lot of CDs). It might take some time to register, but this is actually a chair comprised of god knows how many CDs.
Here's another one by someone with a lot of spare time. This is exactly what it looks like – keycaps glued onto a book cover to make sure it really is one of a kind.
Well what do you know... More keycaps! Is this a prime example of high fashion or proof that nerds have no taste? The jury is still out on the matter.
There are some who see beauty in the intricate patterns on circuit boards. This clipboard may turn heads, but we're not sure that it's actually nice to write on. Maybe it should have just stayed in that computer.
Geeks and fashion can indeed go hand in hand. It looks like someone turned a couple of op-amps and resistors into a pair of earrings. We're sure some will disagree, but these things actually don't look too bad!
Mechanical drives and friction don't play well together, but if you're all about finding novel uses for ordinary items, a spinning hard drive probably serves as a great sandstone... we think.
Did you know that 1 in 3 people have suffered some form of data loss? We'd like to think that data automatically lives on in another realm when the hardware fails, but that's often not the case. But it actually could, if you bother to make regular backups of your PC and other devices to the cloud. Data loss doesn't have to be a catastrophe, and having a backup on hand could allow you to recover from data corruption or the loss of a device quickly.
