The Google Android platform is known for being customizable, but therein lies the issue - will you get the latest firmware updates faster than Google's own Nexus One or customized Android devices such as the HTC Desire and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S?
Odd as it is to hear about HTC paying royalties to Microsoft for the use of the latter's software patents on Android devices, this could have an adverse effect on other Android supporters such as Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
