First things first: I'm neither a hardcore Star Wars fan nor a hardcore Star Trek fan. But I’ve watched and read enough of both to understand what pisses off fans of each camp - and there are many. Since this is Star Wars week, let me impart you a few simple ones to force-ruffle some feathers.
Versus the newly announced Dell XPS devices that come with Thunderbolt 3 support, on paper, Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book suddenly don't seem that ultimate anymore. Is their lack of Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Gen 2, and USB-C a mistake? Here are my thoughts and some speculation.
At the Microsoft Build developer conference, Microsoft announces something called Universal Windows Platform Bridges, toolkits that enable even Android and iOS developers to bring their apps to the Windows Store without tweaking them too much. I wonder how many would do it.
