Held since 1997, the RoboCup international competition aims to encourage artificial intelligence and robotics research. I paid a short visit to RoboCup 2010, held this year in Singapore, to see what the robots of today can do.
There's currently a "Photo Exhibition of Overseas Photo Fieldwork" from 10 Japanese students at the National Geographic Store in Vivocity. These students from the Nippon Photography Institute in Tokyo, Japan, are having quite the adventure, traveling across 10 countries in 6 months. I visited with them and asked them about the stories behind their photographs.
The advent of the personal computer and the internet heralded the coming of the Information Age. And it has been good. But nothing is ever free, not even information. At the same time it gives, it takes away, if not your money, then your time and attention.
