Now, the question is, what if we turn off Pure Hardware T&L and leave the processor to crunch the 3D transformation and lighting? Well, if we let the processor flex its T&L muscle, you can see in the charts below that the results are more consistent at all graphics resolutions. It's no surprise that the Pentium 4 is once again the winner (for now) in this department. It's interesting to note that even the 1.89GHz Athlon XP (rated at 2300+++) was no match for the Pentium 4 at 2.2GHz.
