Nielsen: Youtube Attracts More Younger Viewers than any US Cable Network

A survey done by American measurement company Nielson has revealed that Youtube has a wider reach than any US cable network when it comes to viewers in the 18 to 34 age group. These viewers -- also referred to as Generation C -- are consumers that are constantly connected to the web in one way or another. Youtube reckons that advertisers who want to reach this group of viewers, need to be on the video streaming service. Youtube also mentioned that the number of hours that viewers spend on Youtube has grown to 6 billion hours, up from the 4 billion hours in August 2012. The Google-owned video service also claims that it has 1 billion unique monthly visitors every month.

We recently announced that YouTube hit an incredible milestone of 1 billion unique monthly visitors, connecting 15 percent of the planet to the videos they love. And those global fan communities are watching more than 6 billion hours of video each month on YouTube; almost an hour a month for every person on Earth and 50 percent more this year than last.
