Facebook Home Plummets Down the Google Play Rankings

Facebook Home, Facebook's customized Android launcher app, has not been the overwhelming success CEO Mark Zuckerberg was hoping for. After an initial rush of interest, the app continues to plummet down the Google Play download rankings, showing universal decline in all markets.

According to data compiled by Distimo, after being announced on 5th April, and becoming available for download on 12th April, Facebook Home saw a peak in interest around 24th April, where it climbed into the top 100 apps downloaded on Google Play in eight countries, including Singapore. Less than a week later, it had fallen out of the top 100 in all but one of those countries and continued to fall from there.

It has yet to return to the top 100 in any country and, as of 8th May, has dropped out of the top 300 in all but two countries.
