Biwin Launches New M5301 SSD that Promises 99% Lower Power Consumption
Biwin has just announced its new business-grade M5301 mSATA SSD that consumes up to 99% less power when running under DEVSLP mode. DEVSLP allows the host devices to completely shutdown the SATA interface, thus saving more power as opposed to traditional power states, which still draws a small amount of power.
In the case of the M5301 mSATA SSD, power draw while idle in the DEVSLP mode is a mere 3mW. Comparatively, a normal mSATA’s standard idle power consumption is around 300mW.
This new drive will be on show at Computex 2013.
