D-Link Releases Powerline AV+ Passthrough Adapter & SOHO Unmanaged Switches

D-link has launched its Powerline AV+ Mini Adapter with Passthrough function, as well as a new series of SOHO Unmanaged Switches with EEE Compliance.

The DHP-P308AV Powerline AV+ Passthrough Mini Adapter uses a home's existing electrical wiring to extend an Internet connection while turning every power outlet into a high speed network connection. Compliant with the HomePlug AV standard, it provides network access to computers, game consoles, televisions, and any other Internet-enabled devices throughout a home.

The built-in Passthrough design also enables owners to continue using their electrical socket by plugging another device into the integrated electrical outlet. The Passthrough socket features noise filtering which helps prevent the electrical device plugged into the socket from affecting Powerline connection and performance.

Capable of delivering data transfer rates at speeds of up to 500Mbps, it is suitable for bandwidth-intensive applications, guaranteeing smooth HD video streaming, VoIP phone calls, and lag-free online gaming experiences. QoS support prioritizes multimedia traffic over other types of traffic on your network connection, ensuring faster transmission.

The D-Link DHP-P308AV implements 128-bit AES data encryption at the push of a button to protect your network from any intruders. With hassle-free plug and play installation, it is an ideal solution to create a wall-to-wall home network. It also enables owners to continue using their electrical socket by plugging another device into the integrated electrical outlet.

During periods of inactivity, the DHP-P308AV will go into sleep mode to save power, reducing power usage by more than 50%, allowing you to save energy automatically without sacrificing performance.

The latest series of SOHO unmanaged switches make use of D-Link's Green Technology, saving on energy while reducing heat, in turn providing a longer product life without compromising on performance and functionality. The switches range from 5/8-Port, Fast Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet which provides customers with a quick and easy way to expand and upgrade their existing network to Gigabit connectivity.

With a simple plug-and-play function, users can simply connect the switch to quickly setup a fast, reliable and efficient wired network in your home or office. Its compact design also allows it to be placed in any convenient location, with any unsightly ports handily tucked away at the rear.

IEEE 802.3EEE is the first standard in the history of Ethernet to address proactive reduction in energy consumption for networked devices. The IEEE 802.3 EEE standard defines mechanisms and protocols intended to reduce the energy consumption of network links during periods of low utilization, by transitioning interfaces into a low-power state without interrupting the network connection.

The DHP-P308AV, Powerline AV+ Passthrough Mini Adapter and the new series of SOHO unmanaged switches (DES-1005A/DES-1008A Hardware E1, DGS-1005A/DGS-1008A Hardware C1) will be available in Q3 2013.
